Who are we looking for?

 

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Strategist for our Corporate Distribution Team in Ontario, CA. The ideal candidate will be a heavy “builder”; one who develops and improves processes, plans new technologies, and researches and designs operational enhancements.  This new position presents vast opportunities to make an impact to our growing and dynamic company.  This position will require a leader who is can competently navigate through an advanced Warehouse Management System (WMS) in order to successfully execute all daily aspects of the “Inbound & Outbound” Distribution operations including Shipping & Warehousing, Receiving, Replenishments, Raw Material Requisitions, Document Processing, Premium Fulfillment, Inventory Control, and Product Security in a manner that is consistent with world class business expectations.

What will this position be responsible for?

·         Performing advanced business analysis

·         Seeking, developing and executing continuous business improvement projects.

·         Leading the implementation of corporate initiatives.

·         Working closely with other departments to achieve company goals of fulfillment, replenishment, customer service, and sales.

·         Structure and set up distribution layout that will maximize facility space and work flow efficiency.

·         Create warehouse metrics to establish key performance indicators and show return on investment in the distribution center.

·         Give direction and insight to upper management and executives regarding direction of distribution and logistics.

·         Ensure DC systems and Oracle support are available 24/7 for Plant and Distribution Managers.

·         Perform minor equipment repairs and coordinate hardware and software trouble shooting when required.

·         Provide system support by answering questions, offering technical support, researching operational problems and referring more complex problems to the appropriate individuals.

·         Create, prepare and maintain Distribution reporting systems.

·         Special projects as assigned.

·         Overnight travel to other distribution centers or offices is required.

 

What is required for consideration?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Organizational Management, Logistics or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferably in a food grade manufacturing and distribution environment.
  • Preferably 3-5 years experience in managing 250,000+ sq. ft. warehouse operations (multiple plants are a plus)

·         In depth knowledge of distribution and warehouse functions, work group dynamics, measurement systems (metrics), and continuous process improvement techniques.

·         Strong decision making skills and the ability to link business objectives to business activities.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal skills, forward thinking-visionary, with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Hands on experience with developing, implementing and managing distribution operations with expertise in receiving, WIP processing and distribution/shipping.  APICS certification preferred.
  • Must have extensive experience utilizing ERP/WMS systems to maximize automation and must be able to be a resource for systems related issues/questions.

·         Experience with implementing/utilizing RF based technologies

·         Prior use of a sophisticated WMS system -preferably Oracle 11i applications- and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

·         Ability to build strong, positive rapport with associates in a team environment; ability to lead through personal example that communicates integrity, core values and consistency in decision making.

·         Excellent analytical & people management skills, including conflict resolution, coaching and developing others, promoting teamwork and performance management

·         Ability to implement site standards and best practices to include policies, procedures and workflow development.

·         Ability to work effectively in a fast paced multi-tasking environment and to manage multiple projects/priorities to meet specific goals & deadlines.
