Who are we looking for?

Niagara is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Engineer who will protect the company’s most valuable assets, it’s employees.  This position will be responsible for one of our Ontario, California plants.  Are you looking for an opportunity to utilize your HSE experience to execute HSE processes, policies, and programs with an aggressively growing Company?  Do you have a ‘track record’ of reducing or eliminating workplace accidents and unsafe working conditions? What will you do?

·         Provide New Hire and Refresher HSE Training and course material to Plant employees  and ensure compliance with safety training procedures;

·         Facilitate plant compliance with all Cal OSHA and OSHA requirements for all defined ‘Safety Categories’;

·          Ensure adherence to uniform work safety standards and enforcement procedures in accordance with state and federal requirements;

·         Facilitate and lead the participation of a Safety Committees at the plant;

·         Communicate safety data to plant leadership on a regular basis;

·         Monitor and ensure submission of requisite worker’s compensation documentation;

·         Manage worker’s compensation claims and “return to work” program at the plant;

·         Assist with the tracking and execution of plant level safety goals and safety incentives;

·         Identify workplace safety and accident trends and communicate those trends with solutions to plant leadership;

·         Provide support to plant leadership relative to the implementation of plant level safety programs;

·         Assist with the investigation of plant injuries, incidents and accidents and communicate findings to plant and Safety leadership;

 

 

What is required for consideration?

·         Bachelors degree in Science or Engineering or Environmental discipline required.

·         3 to 5 years experience in Health, Safety, and Environment (manufacturing preferred);

·         Excellent computer skills in MS Office;

·         Experience delivering and facilitating HSE training classes;

·         Key attributes required are confidence, dedication, strong work ethic, self motivated, tenacious problem solver, and the will to succeed;
