Who are we looking for?

Niagara Bottling is looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support our plant in Ontario, CA.  This position is a key member of the Maintenance Dept. and will be responsible for understanding, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing all Electrical Hardware, Software and Equipment in the manufacturing and packaging facility. This will include proprietary equipment containing PLC, HMI, SCADA, LAN Equipment and/or other ancillary devices. Qualified Candidates will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in PLC components & programming, LAN systems and electrical control circuits. Electronic technical experience and basic understanding of other mechanical disciplines in a manufacturing setting is preferred. Desired Software experience includes RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, RSView, Windows XP and other related software. In addition to electrical responsibilities, the technician will also be responsible for understanding, maintaining, troubleshooting of all utility and manufacturing equipment; including but not limited to air compressors (high and low pressure), chillers, cooling towers, air dryers, and pumps. Assist in weekly Preventative Maintenance exercises. 

What is required for consideration? 

  • Ensure that working safely is a priority, and all Niagara safety policies are followed and adhered to
  • To create, install, modify and commission PLC programs for process automation and machine control
  • To install, modify and commission HMI and ensure that user interfaces are intuitive and user friendly
  • To integrate and control ancillary or proprietary equipment
  • Troubleshoot all electrical related problems
  • To participate in design / process reviews for products as required
  • To conduct trials & report on results in order to improve and maximize process
  • To engage in problem solving & brainstorming, both individually & as part of the Groveland Team
  • To lead Continuous Improvement efforts in regards to electrical systems and electrical efficiency
  • Ensure workplace organization and cleanliness is maintained by effective house keeping of plant, tools & equipment and maintaining clean and unobstructed working areas
  • Deal promptly and effectively with problems within your control and report those that cannot be solved, or outside your permitted authority
  • Additional tasks commensurate within your capability may also be necessary in order to meet the needs of the business
  • Electrical Technicians without mechanical experience need not apply
  • Must have own tools
